Maserati GranTurismo Coupe

This is Maserati GranTurismo Coupe. For the man who has everything except taste, there is Mansory. The Bavarian automobile tuner has now turned their attention to the Maserati GranTurismo coupe and its more powerful 'S' brethren.
The Mansory GT and GTS features a new front spoiler, radiator grille, bonnet, deeper door sills, rear spoiler, exhaust inlay, rear apron and rear diffuser. All of these add-ons are carbon fibre and made in-house by Mansory.Mansory has also tweaked the engine output by fitting the GT and GTS models with a new ECU, air filter and sports exhaust which increase performance by 30 hp and torque by 40 Nm on each model (435HP / 5000 Nm on the GT and 470HP / 530 Nm on the GTS).

he Italian coupe now rolls on 255/30 R 20 tires at the front and 305/30 R 21 tires at the back. These are painted to match the body color. The interior is also customized (of course) with new seat fabrics, aluminium pedals and a supposedly sportier-looking steering wheel. For styling sadomasochists, Mansory also has all sorts of packages for cars built by Mercedes-Benz, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ford, Bugatti and Aston Martin.http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/TIumJaTl2sI/AAAAAAADSRA/08iPxvqqcVc/s800/Mansory-Maserati-GranTurismo-S-110.jpg

2010 Maserati GranTurismo

Two years ago, the Maserati GranTurismo replaced the GranSport model. The standard 2010 Maserati GranTurismo comes equipped with a 405-horsepower 4.2-liter V-8, while the sportier GranTurismo S gets a 4.7-liter engine with 433 horsepower on tap. The GranTurismo Convertible also gets the more powerful 4.7-liter V-8. Standard across the GranTurismo range is a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. The 0-60 mph run now takes just 5.1 seconds in the GranTurismo, while the GranTurismo S gets there in 4.5 seconds. Top speeds are 177 mph and 183 mph, respectively.

Maserati’s new GranTurismo Convertible is a beautiful addition to the family of powerful sporting cars designed for the true enthusiast. The guidance of former Formula 1 racer Ivan Capelli is helpful in getting us out of the dense Roman traffic and into the countryside, where we find a delightful winding road with elevation changes, switchbacks and challenging corners to test the Convertible.

Beneath the broad sloping hood lies the excellent Maserati GranTurismo 4.7-liter V-8 engine boasting 440 bhp and 361 lb.-ft. f torque. Out on the open winding road, the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible really struts its stuff--with excellent handling, sharp acceleration, super braking feel and a level of confidence that makes driving this car a joy. The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible (called the GranCabrio in the home market) goes on sale in the U.S. this spring, priced at $139,700.

2008 Maserati

2008 Maserati is preparing a large coupe based on the Quattroporte saloon and meant to compete against luxury GTs such as the Mercedes Benz CLS or Bentley Continental GT. Spy photographers have caught in tests at Nurburgring a large Maserati coupe very similar to the Quattroporte. Overall proportions and visible design details clearly point that this future coupe is closely based on the Maserati sedan.
We can then guess that Maserati has chosen to diversify their offer by producing a large size classic coupe, a true granturismo to compete against the Merc CL-Class, BMW 6 Series, Aston Martin DB9 & Co.

The spec sheet is rife with fodder: Relative to its Porsche 911-fighting Coupe/Gran Sport predecessor, Maserati's new GranTurismo is over 14 inches longer, an inch wider, nearly two inches taller, and-mamma mia!-550 pounds heavier! Supersizing to the Quattroporte sedan architecture afforded Pininfarina room to package a roomier rear seat under a sleeker fastback roof with classic long-hood, short-deck, flying-wedge proportions. The headlamps and the optional 20-inch Trident-spoke wheels riff on Pininfarina's Birdcage concept car. Mechanically, the car is a Quattroporte automatic with 4.8 inches sawed out of the wheelbase and 2.6 inches off the tail. The drivetrain and "Skyhook" adaptive suspension are tailored to the GranTurismo's sportier mission. Press the dash button marked "Sport" and throttle responsiveness increases 20 percent, the dampers stiffen to curtail body roll and float, and the transmission shift logic becomes more aggressive. A separate "Ice" setting blocks first-gear launches and forces upshifts at 3000 rpm.
Outside there's a choice of 19 body colors and two wheel designs in three finishes.

The Quattroporte comes in three trims: Executive GT, Sport GT, and Sport GT S. Rear-wheel drive comes standard.

Car Review >> Maserati Granturismo S Best Car

Maserati Granturismo S Best Car
Women and men in sharp suits, because it shows the guy knows how to dress, and he is more inclined to take them to nice restaurants than sloppy food joints.

The Maserati Gran Turismo is a bit like a suit. The exquisite cut and tailored in a way that makes the wearer feel as secure as the latest Double O Seven makes in his Tom Ford.

The Gran Turismo S is basically the same stuff, just better. It not only makes the wearer look good, but also transforms him into an entirely new man, a sportsman himself.

The key to this increased flexibility is the engine. Displace 4.7 liters (versus 4.2 in the GT), GT S has much more grunt (40bhp and 30nm torque). Couple with the latest DueSelect gearbox, which is similar to Maserati's Ferrari F1 Superfast transmission, shifts are smooth and very, very quick with the changes taking only 100 milliseconds.

The front brake dics has been expanded and made use of a special "dual-cast" technology clamped by powerful six pot callipers. The suspension was also tuned to be a little more sporty than the 4.2 GT's.

Sum of all hardware is an entirely more intent machine comes to life at the touch of a button labeled Sport.

Maserati Granturismo S Teview Cars
When activated, the transmission goes into quick shift mode and exhaust system releases. The shift mode and exhaust system releases. The smart smoking is now a smug race suit. The combination of beeps barreled motor sound with the anger firing on all gear is bound to have an effect on the driver.

Suddenly the drive home will be a lot more exciting. One is Daniel Craig running away from a pursuing Alfa Romeo in the tunnel, except unlike Aston Martin in the opening scene of the latest Bond film, Quantum Of Solace, the Maserati has its doors intact.

Also intact is the GT S's ambitions as a grand tourer. Measuring nearly 4.9m (longer than a BMW 5 series) with a corresponding long wheelbase, its ride quiet and serene.

Maserati Granturismo S Best Car
Although twisty roads is not a problem, but prefer long sweeping corners, where power and size afford it plenty of pace and poise.

When Sport is deactivated, the engine calms down considerably (the deep V8 Rumble are still satisfyingly audible) and shifting morph from being a fast and angry that something that is much smoother, if not entirely smooth as in a conventional automatic transmission.

Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

The Maserati Tramontane Concept is a luxury electric supercar with a futuristic design characterized by flowing elements that form different layers and interconnect the exterior and the interior. The author is Czech design student Ondrej Jirec.
The Maserati Tramontane is a lightweight electric luxury supercar with an original design focused on the reduction of the total number of body parts and the simplification of the production process by combining exterior and interior elements.
Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

Aside from the slippery, aerodynamic overall shape, the most eye-catching aspect of the concept's design is the number of components and body panels which flow from the interior to the exterior. These body parts have different functions, color, material and characteristics which are designed to add different dimensions and effect the overall feel of the vehicle.
Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

It was created by Czech student Ondrej Jirec for his Alias class at the Art Center College of Design. Among the distinctive features of the Maserati Tramontane's design are the components and body panels which flow from the interior to the exterior. These parts have different function, color, material and characteristics and create layers that add different "dimensions" and define an original design language.
The first layer is the main glass exterior surface that essentially envelops the entire car. It is supported by a black frame which attaches to the chassis.
Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

The second layer is composed of the headlamps and the dashboard. This single piece carries the LED headlights and flows smoothly back into the interior where it protects the speakers and interior air vents.
The third layer of the Tramontane creates the lower sections of the seats and, as it reaches the exterior, also carries the taillights. This particular part possesses very high resistance to impact. In case of side impact the seat and chassis work together to protect the occupants. But in the event of a rear collision, this part contains a crumple zone that will collapse, so the seats remain protected.
Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

The fourth layer, placed in the front, serves as a housing for the electric motor and also as a dashboard. This element is attached to the chassis and hides the motor, frame, and all the electronics.
Having its length at 4,250mm, Tramontane is just 50mm shorter in length to Lamborghini Gallardo. Its height is 1,170mm which is almost the same as that of Gallardo’s. Its front wheels are driven by an electric motor, whereas the rear ones have an electric motor for each.
Maserati Electric Supercar Tramontane Concept

The most striking facet of its design is the number of components and body panels that smoothly move from interior to the exterior. Its parts have different functions, color, material and characteristics that aid more to the overall feel of the vehicle.
The proposed drivetrain for the concept is an all-electric setup. The front wheels are driven by one electric motor, while the rear wheels each get their own motor.
